RE: Track leather?
I bought my franks Thomas at cycle gear and have tested it inadvertently and I will say that it held up really well. You get what you pay for when it comes to gear. Mine was on clearance from like $499 or $500 down to like $180 which is why I bought it along with the fact that it fit the best. Sure there are some better brands but realky you also need to look for how it fits. Some suits are cut differently than others. My size in an astar suit was like trying to get a wet elephant in leather spandex. However the same size in a joe rocket fit loose. So head down to cycle gear or any other store that has many different suits and just start trying on suits and get one that fits. I must have spent 2 hours trying on 10 different suits before I settled on mine. It's your first suit and won't be your last. Do get a quality back protector and quality boots and gloves. Leathers are an expensive investment but again you get what you pay for and you will be thanking yourself when you put then to the test. Just my $.02.

Forgot to add and though I do agree with Geared up Moto on a used suit, Do not purchase without seeing in person. If there are any broken stitches, guess where the suit will tart to come apart the first time you test it.

I agree with jet mech and Pcone and others who posted. The first thing you want to do is figure out your size, second is to figure out how much (avg suit cost) new or used, you need to figure out a budget. Last but least, figure out what holiday is closest, birthday or christmas! Then proceed to beg your entire family for CASH! Ive done it! Well never know you resorted to getting on your hands and knees! If you can fake cry, youll have a suit in no time! LOL! Wink

Be sure to ask questions and do your research. We've got Arlen Ness Alpinestars and Taichi suits available. If you need to try on suits, stop Cycle Gear. As of right now, they probably have the largest local selection. Just make sure you make notes as to what fit, brand, size, likes, dislikes, etc! I will also price match Cycle Gears price on suits. We have a couple different sizes to try on as well. Our inventory is growing and more sizes will be available soon.

RE: Track leather?
Ok, example; you would most likely be a 56 in an Arlen Ness suit. But you may be a smaller or larger in a different brand. Also, something to be aware of; Some suits use a EUROPEAN SIZING and some USE U.S. the way to calculate is if you have a suit that is a 46 U.S. it would be a 56 Euro. Same suit, just add 10 points to the size to get euro and vs. vrs. for Euro to U.S. conversion. Some suits have both printed on the size tag inside the suit.
