so is that done as its own color or a translucent black over chrome? i.e. is it gonna double the cost of everything for materials?

A black chrome will require a reflective base coat if the part doesn't already have one (polished aluminum or real chrome) the cost iof supplies would probably be $30-$60 depending on if you want a clear coat.

This post has been out for a while now, just curious if etch still powdercoats? I have a couple of items I'd like to get powdercoated black (muffler cover, rearsets, pegs).
