BJs?
I'm going to be needing a brake job done here soon , anyone in the group that can give me a crash course on changing break pads ? Or would y'all recommend just having a shop do it?
Some do drugs, some drink bottles, I solve my problems by twisting throttles. |

RE: BJs?
THIS POST IS MISLEADING.
lol but brakes are easy! IF you are just doing the pads its about a 45 min job, maybe less. Depends if you have to take off your front tire or not and or calipers. Awesome! thanks guys , I'll let you know when I have the parts if you wanna check your schedule & let me know what weekend works best for you?
Also 1 more question, for topping off my break fluid; Do I need motorcycle specific break fluid ? Or is all break fluid the same ? Some do drugs, some drink bottles, I solve my problems by twisting throttles. |

RE: BJs?
YEs you need specific motorcycle brake fluid. Dot 4 is what is recommended for most bikes. Dot 5 is just a waste.

It's like three times as good as DOT 4. Also it should say on the top of your reservoir. But unless you have a leak you shouldn't really need to top it off. Just more brake fluid you're going to have to drain later. Especially since the stuff goes bad over time. A freshly sealed bottle is always ideal.
