Yeah, it's got like three times the stopping power of DOT 4. It's a specialty fluid though. They usually keep it behind the counter along with blinker fluid and other specialty fluids.

RE: BJs?
Pads? 10 minutes...
Do not top-up the brake fluid reservoir until AFTER you change out the pads.
You might find you don't really need to top-up.

RE: BJs?
For actual safety sake, I feel i need to chime in here and mention that you should NEVER use DOT 5 brake fluid in a system designed for 3 or 4. DOT 5 is NOT compatible with 4 and will destroy your brake system if mixed together.

DOT 3 and DOT 4 are completely compatible as is DOT 5.1. DOT 5, however, was designed as a military and special purpose fluid that is silicone based where as 3/4/5.1 is a synthetic derived from a glycol base.

FWIW, a little tip on brakes, most modern motorcycle use DOT4 fluid due to temperature resistance and lower water absorption characteristics, however, in a pinch you can safely use DOT 3 if need be but one should try and brake easy to keep temps down on the brake system and prevent boiling (i.e. vapor/air introduction into the brake system).

If doing just a pad slap, as freddy mentioned, it is a 10 minute job.

And this is what happens when Justin is awake at 4am for no reason.

RE: BJs?
Also, it is worth it so get Sintered HH pads (even the cheap ones on ebay are fine as thats what I use). Stopping power is soooo much better. ceramics are good but need heat and carbon/organics are not so great but work if you're on a budget.
