Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if anyone had any info that could help me with this. I have a 1993 CBR F2 that I am quite fond of. I was hoping to do my first track day in September to get better with my riding and cornering. Everything on my bike is set to go, the only thing I think that needs to be done on it is the lip of the front rim is ever so slightly bent out one one area. I'm not even sure how it happened or if it was already there when I got it a year ago. I'm thinking that might cause my bike to fail inspection and want to get it fixed. I can take off the wheel but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to take it to have the tire removed, the lip moved back and tire put back on without at a reasonable price.

Thanks for the help!
Anyone that works on the wheel should remove it at little to no cost. I know Cycle Gear doesn't charge you to remove/install a tire, off bike.

Thanks LVNeptune, does Cycle Gear also have the equipment to bend the lip of the rim back in.

Thanks!
Post a pic of the bend.

2x4 can be used if its a very slight bend...leave tire on rim.
Hubcap Annie will straighten it if it more than slightly bent...about $60.
(They beat up the rim and straighten, so he coloring in that area will be trashed...and this requires that the tire be removed)

I've heard about trying the 2 X 4 thing. Also also had someone else recommend Hubcap Annie's. Looks like I'll try both if needed. I've noticed no problems from it, no vibrations, tire leakage etc. Here's a couple of pics of it, please excuse the dirtyness of my bike. I got caught in the rain and hail last Saturday, big mess.

Try giving the Jordan a call at Geared Up Moto. He might be able to help.

So... You're looking for someone to give you a rim job?

Ha, ha! Between the talk of rim jobs, and a riding Red Cock, people are going to start to wonder what kind of forum they've stumbled into.
Big rubber mallet from harbor freight might do the trick
