Any suggestions as where to buy a new battery and any specific brand that's better for a 2012 zx6r?

eBay, all the way. The last two batteries I bought off eBay for 25 bucks and they've lasted way longer than the store bought one for 91 bucks. Just saying. That's my opinion.

Lithium-ion are the way to go. I myself have a Shorai. Light weight, good warranty, and comes with the necessary foam to help you fit it to your bike. They are a bit pricey but well worth it.
