RE: What did you do to your bike today?
that would be the plug with 3 wires from the stator to the regulator/rectifier on tomy's bike.

I always suggest that everyone check that plug as it is a VERY common point of failure on MANY bikes. They always burn up. They just can't handle the 20-100 vAC that the stator produces. All of my bikes have the plug removed and the wires soldered instead.

Drained the oil. Replaced Stator Cover. Need to buy some oil so I can possibly start it. More to follow.

RE: What did you do to your bike today?
Fixed the starter clutch on the big magna and managed to mess up the regular clutch in the process - which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it was messed up a bit to begin with. Fortunately I was able to source a complete clutch assembly locally for $21 and that not only cured my boo-boo but also the problem I had before my boo-boo with the spring loaded split gears on the clutch basket so all is well and the motorcycle gods are now happy after my small sacrifice.

Also picked up a 1983 V45 magna with 10K miles for $200, clean title, all there, just sitting for a long time, bringing my Magna count to 3 now.

Finished new paint on my 84 700 Magna the other day, as well as rebuilt the carbs again and shes running purrrrty!

been riding Tia to and from work but now have Maggie up again so she will get some lovin'. Gonna be registering the 84 700 in the next few days but still have to do fork seals and caliper rebuild on her.
