Took off my tank today and checked all the vent hoses... none of them were clogged... what else would cause vapor lock?

Does the "vapor locking" happen when the engine is cold and or warming up? If so probably not a vapor lock condition. Vapor locking happens when a fuel line gets hot and usually happens after stoping the engine, because fuel is not moving in the lines. Example: Go to the store on hot day. Stop engine. After 5 minutes come out of the store. Engine will not start.

RE: What did you do to your bike today?
That happened once in utah, once I opened the tank cap I was able to start the bike almost immediately.
Other times it has happened on HOT days in the middle of traffic. Bike will just stop. Open gas tank, too much pressure has built up.. Happened at the poker run to twin peaks a long time ago.. not sure if anyone remembers.. =] Then it happened when we went to valley of fire. bike was just dying in the middle of going 80+ engine would just stop. bike didnt start working right till we went to the gas station, poped the tank cap, was able to get almost home before pressure built up again.. RE: What did you do to your bike today?
Your gas cap should have a vent in it.
If its not working right, pressure will build. This can cause issues with starting the motor. My Kawis have this issue sometimes when left in the sun (pressure builds faster than the vent valve can evacuate). I just open the gas cap to vent and then start it up. --- Charlie don't surf! I had this same problem beginning of the summer, turned out to be the fuel pump filter & screen. Pull the fuel pump and check, clean and or replace.

But, that might point at another issue (not the pressure buildup in the tank). --- Charlie don't surf! The Cake is a Lie! You're gonna love my nuts! RE: What did you do to your bike today?
Maybe I have multiple problems.... lol
But it only happens on hot days. either issue... Fuel filter on gsxr is notoriously ridiculous to clean.. it runs fine idling, etc, even at high rpms it delivers fuel fine... Ive seen fuel pumps work intermittently, and if they overheat they can do it more often (if faulty). Maybe not the filter, but perhaps the pump itself. Is it the original one ? --- Charlie don't surf! The Cake is a Lie! You're gonna love my nuts!
