630 miles / appx 10 hours / $60-80 for gas / $10 for food

To Pahrump, NV – 48 miles (gas stop)
To Jubilee Pass - 49 miles
To Badwater, CA – 38 miles
To Furnace Creek, CA – 14 miles (gas stop)
To Lone Pine, CA – 105 miles (gas stop)
To Big Pine, CA – 42 miles (gas + lunch stop)
To California 168 & California 266 – 38 miles
TURN AROUND
To Lone Pine, CA – 80 miles (+38 miles from Turn Around = 118 miles) (gas stop)
To Furnace Creek, CA – 105 miles (gas stop)
To Pahrump, NV – 60 miles
To Las Vegas, NV – 48 miles

Alternate Route (for those not wishing to doubleback through the twisties, but instead continue to Las Vegas and save 2 hours):
From California 168 & California 266
To Beatty, NV – 96 miles (+ 38 miles from Big Pine, CA = 135 miles)
To Las Vegas, NV – 105 miles

If someone has a truck and wants to volunteer to follow us, I will pitch in for gas money.

You might want to check this page it has updates on the road closures in Death Valley with the government shutdown. Looks like 190 and 395 will be open but all the other roads will be closed plus the gas station at Stovepipe wells will be closed. Looks like a cool ride, I bet no one will be out there with the shutdown too.

Thanks for the update. I was looking for possible closure due to the gubment having its head up its ass. If an admin could please edit the title from [10/5/2013] to [PENDING]? Or, I just saved the content, so you can delete it and I will repost. Thanks!
