Ducati Diavel!

Anybody know anything about this bike ( Ducati Diavel)? Im seriously considering trading my bike in to buy this. I've read alot of articles and been on different Duc forums but im looking for first hand experience with it! Also any inside information on Ducati , as far as reliability, and over customer service .

No firsthand on the Ducati, obviously. But from what I've been told by other people with Italian bikes is that they're a pain in the ass. If you have a shit ton of money to throw at it that's fine, but maintenance sucks and costs a lot. That's one of the reasons why I'm not gonna buy Italian until well after my residency is over.

Great riding bikes but UGLY with a capital F!

And it's Italian so there's everything that goes with that. Maintence heavy but reliable enough as long as you keep up on that maintenance. Lots if special tools. Nothing makes sense on it but it works somehow. They used to have VERY fussy valves but I think most of that has been worked out. Dry clutch is a little strange to get used to.

Otherwise go for the ugly bike!

Dont know much about the diavel, but my 848 runs like butter. I did drive all the way to cali to get it though. Bike shops here are a joke.

I've got a buddy with a 1098. From what he says, it runs like a raped ape, but the maintenance is a bitch. Not sure about the other Ducati models, but I know with the 1098, they put the major maintenance (valves) more on par with the Japanese bikes so that cut down significantly on maintenance costs since that major maintenance isn't required as frequently, but when maintenance is due, your wallet will take a serious hit. In the 4-5 years since the 1098 came out, I'd expect that they made more models maintenance friendly, but not 100% sure.
