Audi mechanic among us?
I was thinking of buying a vintage TT, and wanted to know if anyone knows a good Audi shop? I figure any used one 2005-2006 over 90K will need ongoing work...always loved those small coupes and just sold my truck this week..

An audi with only 90,000 will need work? Maybe you should stick with FORDS!

RE: Audi mechanic among us?
how does 2005 or 2006 qualify as vintage? its not even 10 years old, the minimum I would even consider modern vintage. LOL.

I thought cars followed the same rules as cell-phones. After a year and a half they're vintage "250 is like the honey badger, it doesn't give a shit" 906+ years and still going! **2013-2016 Secretary** |

RE: Audi mechanic among us?
With German cars out of warranty, yeah 10 years is "vintage" and you are taking a risk maintenance wise. A new clutch is $1,900 and god knows what a engine or tyranny might be.
My mind says just buy a new honda civic si for 20K, but always loved that audi body style (not the new one they have out). Hell, I would buy a 1968 Z28 but that is beyond vintage, no ABS, no air bags, no crumple zones, horrific gas mileage..just way to old.. |

Had to replace one of my batteries in my 05 F350 today. Damn high maintenance Ford.

Buy a Honda, reliable, or a 68 Z although good luck with that, only like 7k and change of them made or some insanely low number like that isnt it? Nothing to break on the old cars like on new ones and when they do, SBC parts are dirt cheap and easy to fix. Besides, the TT is just a squished VW new beetle with 2 more wheel drive basically. - Justin "You were taking it easy right?
