No, it's not that I'm only a fair weather rider, but there is a point where I don't put myself in harms way for no particular reason. I just didn't see a need to possibly ride in the rain, in the dark and risk having debris and dirt on the road and possibly go down...for what purpose? Just for a simple joy ride at night? Uhhh, no thanks. Not worth it. If it was where I had to go somewhere with a purpose, then I would do what I have to do and ride.
I've ridden in plenty of horrid CA rainstorms to and from work before when I lived there and you do what you gotta do. Like I said, I just didn't see a need to risk possible harm to myself or my bike tonight just for a fun joy ride. Just my choice is all. I figure there will be a next time.  Have fun and be safe. For those who missed it.. Clear skies, nice ride, roads were clear and.really nice! Good ride to the 4 of us!.

And I don't know why, but there was a hole in the clouds right over our heads. Vegas was overcast, and the east was overcast, but right over the lake was perfectly clear. Saw a crap load of shooting stars. Scientific EDIT: The roads weren't bone dry. Bones are actually very moist, especially with all of the arteries and capillaries running through them, not to mention the juicy marrow on the inside. The roads were as dry as... very very dry!
