Hi guys,

New to the forum thanks to Vegasrider.

I have a question.
I just bought a 2008 Yamaha FZ6 and its coming up on 26500miles which is when the valves have to be adjusted/checked. I also noticed that my CCT starts making noise. I went to a local shop and they quoted me $850+ for the valves and CCT which seems a bit expensive?!

I don't have the tools or the room to try it myself (quite frankly I'm not sure my knowledge is enough to do it myself) and I was wondering if any of you guys know a shop or a good mechanic who could check/adjust the valves and replace the CCT?!
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Folks, I'm a Columbus, Ohio, resident in the middle of a cross country moto tour on a year 2000 Suzuki GSF600S Bandit. Or, as I like to call it, the Wee Bandit. I'm currently three weeks and 4,000 miles into the trip. The bike has over 108,000 on the clock in total. The primary object of the journey has been the viewing of the total solar eclipse in Casper, Wyoming. I'm currently in Las Vegas visiting with my retired parents. Prior to the start of my wanderings, I had a new rear Avon drop shipped to my parent's home.

Anyone with standard tire changing implements (bead breaker, compressed air, and static balancer?) in their personal shop willing to host me for an hour or two for me to change my rear shoe?

PM me if interested in getting together.

Thanks!

In case you'd like to see some of the pictures from the trip so far:

My new Suzuki GSX-S750 seems to feel every nuance of the road, which is translating to a lot of activity in the arms. Most other bikes I have ridden are not nearly as sensitive. I think the only adjustment is rebound. Any ideas? It only has 200 miles on it so it's also possible it will smooth out with more mileage.

So my battery has been going to shit lately. Over the past two weeks I've had push start my bike twice, and today alone I had to do it three times. The battery is only about 6ish months old, but it was a cheapo from autozone. I usually have one good try to start the bike, and if it doesn't start up right away, then it's time to push start it.

So what do people think? Just a bad battery, or could my charging system be taking a dump? Are there any indications of a charging system going bad? Gonna be trying to get a new one from autozone after I get off work today, just to get me by.

Been having an issue with my 97 NINJA ZX6E...
taken it to two different shops becuase I could not get a hold of the mechanical genius.
The issue...
While riding, at 70, the gas gives out (no matter how much I give it I either get little or no response), and the bike idles to 0 rpm...and dies..
can pull in clutch and release, and it "push starts" but at high speed that is quite dangerous, and very unpleasant...
If I pull over, and get to a dead stop the bike fires right back up, and I can go again until I hit 50-70 for about a quarter to a half mile, and wham, same issue...

Please help... or send me in a direction to someone who can. As I have already taken it to a couple local shops, I am now completely skeptical of the work around here. Thanks in advance....
I got the whole rearset off the bike, no problem, then got the peg/brake lever thingy off the rearset, but can't seem to get the peg to slide out of the bearing hole that the rear brake lever pivots around.
