Unfortunately, rangers had closed the road to the Red Rock loop due to the water/mud crossing the road.

So, I decided to go to another undisclosed location and see if I could find some water/mud to play in.

Not much running water, but did find some.
And riding in the wash while being rained on was kind of fun.
So was hiking about 1k feet up a mountain, only to turn back once lightning started striking down...

Unfortunately, rangers had closed the road to the Red Rock loop due to the water/mud crossing the road.

So, I decided to go to another undisclosed location and see if I could find some water/mud to play in.

Did you know in Tokyo, the Leo's ride VFR's? Some poor dude got lit up. LOL...on the their emergency lights, old school. Not the smaller led's.

The only thing that is left recognizable from the A bomb. They call it the Atomic Dome. They have created a park called Peace Memorial which also includes a museum.

Highlight of the trip riding the "Shinkansen" AKA "Bullet Train" Imagine having your throttle wide open with long ass straightaways where the corners are banked. This train was fast. I was tracking my location on the GPS and it was hilarious because it was moving so fast on the map.

(I think I passed 2 riders from todays My2Wheels long ride on their way back)

Along the way, I took a few side roads, and one of them turned into a nice long and technical wash with lots of loose gravel and rocks, and lots of turns. Fun!
It seemed to go on for quite a while, but eventuality it led to another trail that in turn led to a power line road.

While taking a break, I ran into Graham Buck and 3 other riders (2 quads and 2 bikes total).
One of the quads had a flat, so I hung out while they patched it.

I then split and took another side road leading to a cool mine that was not closed shut. So I explored a bit there.

After the mine, I headed back to the power line road, and took the wash leading to the campground at Mt. Potosi.
I got the spring, and a few minutes later, Graham and his group show up there.

Graham's bike seems to be out of coolant...so he fills the radiators up with some water from the spring.

They all take off and I stay back for a few minutes.

I rode out through the campground towards the 160, and Graham was there solo...his friends turned left to go to the Mt Spring bar, and he wanted to turn back towards town (getting late and he had no lights).

He followed me from there through the wash and dirt road back to the parking area @ Cottonwood.

He then continued on back to town and I loaded my bike and split.

Good times.

My Trip from house to Tombstone AZ. May 24 weekend 2014
Left Saturday May 24 at 0630 and on Road at 0700. Hit a little rain in Search lite down to the 40
Drove down 15 to Nipton then down the 95 to Yuma AZ and then to Tucson AZ along the 8 to the 10.
Total mileage was 647 miles.

Our trip was to Tombstone on Sunday May 25. The temp was nice I road down with my Nolan Module Helmet locked in the upright position.

On the way home May 26 it was a straight shot back. I-10 to US60 and then to the 93 North to the I215

On the ride home I took the face shield off the helmet to allow wind flow.

This ride was a total of 1077 miles give or take a few.
