Hey all...

Well, unfortunately I went down on the street this morning while I was on my way to work. Go figure that I did a trackday on Sat and everything was great, ride to work on Wed and I go down. I hit a small patch of oil on the ground I didn't see (dawn was just breaking) and I had cold tires and it was cooler out. Plus, go figure that I was trying to lean off the bike more after seeing I wasn't doing it as much during the trackday. Sighhhh...

Anyway, a couple of questions...below are the pics of the damage and I'm hoping some of you might have some answers for me.

As you can see, the shift lever broke off. Does anyone know if Yamaha sells just that shift lever part itself and if it can be installed onto the shaft that's still on the bike? If not, do you know if I can buy just the entire shaft/lever itself without having to buy an entire rearset from Yamaha?

Secondly, the swingarm spool broke off, of course leaving the bolt in the swingarm. What's the best way to remove the rest of the bolt without screwing it up or scratching up the swingarm (if possible)?

Thanks for the help!

LMFAO!!! That's my solution!!!

Damn bro, that SUCKS! Luckily the damage doesn't seem too bad... Also... you don't need a shift lever. You'll be fine.
The bolts should come out pretty ez. need a drill and bolt remover, You dont need a new shifter just get a longer bolt. just saying.
Hit me up and we can get the broken lug out... We can have a look at the shifter, some bikes you an replace the peg only, sometimes just the lever, sometimes the whole thing. Will only take a minute to figure that out. Let me check and ill get back to you in a minute...

Shitty bro!

Damn sorry hear dude. I have a damn good extractor set to get the bolt out. Really seems like the sliders did their job. eBay has been my friend in getting cheap stock replacements in good shape. Some nice cutting paste, compound and some polish will get those scratches right out. The scraped black parts you can just paint over. I went to color rite and got Suzuki flat black in a rattle can and went to town on some scratches on my bike and it blended perfectly!!! If you need a hand hit me up thru PM and ill send you my number. Should be pretty straight forward.

Most importantly, how are you??? Did you have your gear??
I have cutting compound and the equip to do that too... Let me know.

Damn dude, I'm starting to question my tool inventory.
Glad you're okay dude. Just a word of advice, don't mix up the track and the street. There really is no reason to attempt hero type lean angles on the street, especially on an early cool morning where tire grip is sketchy at best, unless you're looking to attract unwanted attention from the local authorities, or do some helmet surfing during your impending crash. Looks like the damage isn't very bad so good luck putting everything back together, sounds like it shouldnt' be too expensive. Victory-sign
