Hey SCS, my name is Jesse and I'm an avid rider and sportbike enthusiast! I am also a full time student at UNLV and enrolled in a sociology of subcultures class. I have an extensive research paper due at the end of May on a subculture of my choice, and I immediately thought of your group. If I could get the green light from you all to proceed in writing this paper, that would be amazing.
Our class was given two options in gathering research:
1) Literature
2) Participant Observation
I find researching subcultures via literature rather dull, and decided to choose the latter.
Participant observation (in the case of SCS) would include primarily interviews, ride alongs, and social gatherings. The information is rather vague so far, but I can fill you all in with all the details every step of the way.
Of course, all this is contingent upon your response!
If not, I will have to go the literature route and write a paper on some Harley biker gang and be forced to conclude that Harley-Davidson bikes are better machines in every aspect when compared to sportbikes. Just kidding.
Thank you! -Jesse
