Watching myth busters showed water fragmented all bullets in a few feet. It's not like what you see in James Bond or any other Hollywood flick.

I wonder what it would do if shot from above water, into the water.
(barrel is not full of water that it has to displace when fired)
I would think that the bullet would not travel as far if shot above water. The round would be traveling much faster and once it hit the water all of the kinetic energy would cause the bullet to fragment quicker.
