Anyone interested in becoming a MSF Rider Coach?
Hello fellow riders,

Each year, the Nevada Rider Motorcycle Safety Program holds a rider coach preparation class in Las Vegas. This year it will be March 5-11, usually held at one of the campuses of CSN. Successful candidates will become certified instructors which will allow you teach motorcycle safety to new as well as experienced riders. You won't get rich but you do get paid and most vendors will provide a discount for coaches for parts and gear. Arai helmets 50% off, Shoei 30%, etc. and no more speeding tickets by LEO's.....joking of course.

Do you qualify? You must have a valid motorcycle endorsement for at least 2 years. Ride a motorcycle on a regular basis. Have a valid NV DL, unless you are in the military and have a good riding/driving record. Most importantly you must be a responsible motorcyclist with safety in mind, not just for yourself but for the students as well. Although I may not know many of you, I still know a handful of you who are the core of this forum, which is an indication of longevity when it comes to riding. A great sign of riders making the right decisions which is why I have posted up. Riders who make poor choices don't last.

If anyone on this forum or anyone you may know is interested in becoming a rider coach, click on the link below. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to post up or PM me. I can also help guide you through your pre-course assignments.

Kenny

Kenny!!! Good to hear from you man!! Hope all is well!!?

We are still waiting for pilot to get back to us for a SCS advanced day like we had a few years ago.

Do you by any chance have your contact or know of someone we could talk to get this going?!

Doing good. Getting chilly up here in the north but nothing that heated gear can't take care of. Thanks for asking.

How many would be interested in taking the class? Probably can't get anything going until the spring so you will have time to get this going. Maybe bring it up in your next meeting and see if there is any interest. Besides, spring time is the time for everyone to consider taking another class since many riders had some sort of a lay off during the winter. Unfortunately for most riders, once they take a class and earn their M endorsement, it's the last class they take. Las Vegas is one of the most challenging cities to ride. Not only do you have to be a great rider to survive the streets down there, you have to practice and keep your skills sharp!

Remember, there is no testing involved for those who already have an M endorsement. But in the event a rider didn't have one, a test can be administered so that they have an opportunity to earn one. A completion card is still provided for those who have a M endorsement. Comes in handy since most insurance companies will offer some sort of a discount towards their motorcycle insurance. Discount is good for about a year then it disappears.

Anyways, we can revisit this topic as spring approaches. In the meantime, see if you guys can come up with some rider coach candidates. I know some of you guys would make great coaches.
